Habitat Restoration – From the River to the Ridge

Native Ecosystems Inc. (NEI) is a full service ecological restoration and biological consulting firm based in Humboldt County, California. We provide assistance with all aspects of restoration projects, providing both consulting services and project implementation. We have designed and managed a variety of riparian, forest, salmonid, wetland, oak woodland, and grasslands restoration projects. We specialize in creation of restoration plans and biological reports, grant proposal development, GIS mapping and analysis, project management, and restoration implementation. Our mission is to design and implement high quality, successful habitat restoration and forest health projects that protect and restore the California’s diverse ecosystems. Our experienced ecological restoration field crew members have planted over 5 million native plants, completed 100’s of acres of acres of forest thinning, and miles of willow bio-engineering treatments. We are ecologists, biologists, and ecological laborers. We are a California licensed contractor (D-49 and C-27) and Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioners. Our clients and project partners have included the Bureau of Land Management, the County of Humboldt, the Yurok Tribe, Stillwater Sciences, Salmonid Restoration Federation, Eel River Recovery Project, Trout Unlimited, Mattole Salmon Group, Vollmar Natural Lands Consulting, Mattole Restoration Council, McBain and Associates, Mike Love and Associates, Save the Redwoods League, and SHN Engineering as well as private landowners.
