Restoration Crew Supervisor

Derek began working for CDFW in the recreational fisheries department in 2022, while at the same time working in general construction. With a joy for hands-on work, he wanted to dive deeper into ecological restoration. In January 2024 he started working with NEI on the Lower Klamath Project, and has become a great addition to the team, working on native plant installation, invasive species treatments, and Western Pond turtle surveys. He received his degree in Environmental Science and Management from Cal Poly Humboldt in 2022.
